2009 PAGE Screenwriting awards
MHP writer/producer Richard Moon’s screenplay “Jupiter” was awarded the Silver Prize in the Science Fiction category of the 2009 PAGE Screenwriting Awards. The PAGE awards received a record number of entries this year, and “Jupiter” placed in the top 0.7% of all the scripts received, as well as the top 0.4% of scripts in its category.
“Jupiter” is a science-fiction Western in the tradition of “Outland”. Bill Martch is a soldier-turned-miner who finds financial fulfillment, competition, and possibly love, with a ruthless businesswoman, Karen Pallas, in a frontier-town space station far out on the edge of civilization. But their plans and dreams for the future can’t coexist, and their relationship quickly becomes one of betrayal, murder, and finally outright war, with the fate of their small home hanging in the balance.
